Compass UI visual regression is gated by built-in Playwright toHaveScreenshot with baseline PNGs committed in-repo, as DL-341 ruled (not a hosted visual-diff service; a visual-gate moon task on @playwright/test 1.62.1; thresholds 0.001 base, 10/90 state-dot, 25/21357 bridge-card; hard gate from first landing; GitHub committed-PNG image-diff adjudication, with the CI failure artifact kept only as the diagnostic path for an unintended red), with one change to baseline source: a branch may commit a baseline captured locally under the pinned dev shell, for a new shot or a refresh of an existing one, provided CI’s visual-gate re-renders every shot green on the PR head and the PR body records the PNGs as local captures and names each changed shot; the regen-visual-baselines lane stays main-only (so no branch mints its App token) as the operator path for refreshing main itself
